About

Who am I? Why would you want to read yet another blog? Seriously…I have no idea but it gives me a place to write about the truly insane things that happen my life and it’s cheaper than therapy. For you maybe it’s seeing someone who has more of a shit-show life than you do and you can feel better.

I am Samantha. Married to Andre and mom to 3 Doxies, Lulu, Charlie and Teddy. My husband is a restaurant “guy”. He looks a little like George Clooney meets Jay Leno, he loves to recycle paper towels, only watches the ID channel or LIVE PD – a little concerning for me but I figure he would hire someone to kill me and therefore get caught – they always talk.

The dogs are our babies. Teddy is my favorite – yes I said it and I said it out loud. If he were a “real” child he would be at an Ivy League school, in a fraternity and p-laying lacrosse. His brother Charlie would wear leather in summer, look a little like Adam Ant but with the neurosis of Howie Mandell. Lulu is our chunky monkey. She is a little on the heavy side and never met a meal or trash can she didn’t like. Lulu will destroy anything in her way to eat and she lives under the bed – because fat looks better in the dark.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong (no I am not Chinese although Ancestry DNA says differently). My family is in the toy industry – my grandfather was the first person to manufacture a battery operated toy – no, not that kind of toy.

My mom is a kick ass business woman who never seems to age which is literally so annoying. There will be many posts about her and I am in the middle about writing a book about her. Her name is Angela, I named one of my chickens after her.

I used to live in Los Angeles where I met my husband and am the owner of a PR firm Media Maison. We moved to Portland Oregon for a minute – more on that later and then to NY City. We were blessed to live in a 3 story brownstone with a garden – we owned a tree in NY City.

After many years of city living, I always dreamt of living on a farm of some sort. I had visions of myself in a Laura Ashley dress with muck boots and the little mice characters from Cinderella as my friends. So we moved to upstate NY and it isn’t quite like a depression medication commercial and more like Green Acres.

We have 8 goats: Joey & Trudy, Ben & Jerry, Vanilla & Oreo and Cookie & Peanut Butter. We also have 10 chickens we raised from chicks and they are now in their teenage years. Not an egg in sight. We don’t milk our goats we just pet them.

We have lived in a rental here then bought our own farm house which we redid from top to bottom. I have seen a bear, stepped on a frog, learnt what a stink bug and ticks are. I had a guardian livestock dog that turned out to not know how to guard anything so he’s in a new home. We had to install cable onto the property because there was never cable here. We have a well so I am told and I can only use 1 ply Scotts toilet paper of my sewer system will overflow. Charming. There is much to cover in my blog about our life on the farm which we now call “GOAT HILL MANOR”.

Finally I have an assistant/therapist/friend/comedic side kick and partner in crime – for his own privacy I will call him Kevin. Kevin has worked for me for some time and he’s seen it all. From middle of the night decorating to picking up goats to learning how to make BoBa at home…. he’s is everything and more. You will hear about him ALOT.

Our lives have changed but I work from home, still go into the city to my office and have an open invitation to anyone who wants to come stay.

Join me for the ride and say Hi.

xoxo
Samantha
