Snow, Snow and More Snow!

So when we moved up here everyone warned us of the “snowstorms”. I thought how bad could it possibly be? I always thought of snow as that pretty stuff that floats in a snow globe or brown/black shit in the city covered in dog pee. What I did not know is that snow means 1 foot, 2 feet, 3 feet, shit I can’t see outside, fuck my car is buried. This was our introduction to Hudson Valley Snow.

It’s February and I have been so busy with the remodel of the house I haven’t had time to “blog” about shit let alone my everyday shitshow. So this past week we have been hit, hit again and again with snow, sleet, more snow. It’s f-ing freezing and that’s even with my overheated menopause nightmare of a body.

It was so bad that we had to find someone in town who could plow for us. Let’s just say Dre and I are not exactly equipped for this. I found an App. Yes apparently their is Uber for Snow Plows. I signed in and they said a “plough person” would magically appear sometime in the next 3-5 hours.

In an earlier post I introduced you to Angela – my friend at the hardware store in Millbrook. She is so adorable. Well you know it’s a small town when your snow plough guy shows up and Angela pops out of the truck. Her fiancee TJ is our snow plow guy and almost a year later we love them, he is my life saver and I wouldn’t have made it without him up here. But more about him later.

Our new house is well underway of remodeling. It’s looking amazing. I so want to post a pic or two but I am going to wait for the big reveal.

We haven’t killed a goat yet. We (I mean my husband) get up every morning and trudges to our rental barn and feeds them and loves them. I spend my time ordering sweaters for them online.

It’s so fucking cold that I am truly counting the days to spring. It just can’t get any worse. It was fun at first. Fireplace, boardgames, hot chocolate, white everywhere outside. Now it’s wet Amazon packages, boots that are covered in salt residue and the occasional fall on my ass. The trees at our new house are white and covered with snow, the driveway at our new house which is 700 feet is covered in snow. It’s a snow shit show!
