It’s been 61 days exactly – 61 days since we got the keys to our new home. ^1 days of snow, freezing weather, power outages. But the house is finished!!!! Here’s a list of what we did in 61 days. All new power and plumbing – the boring stuff All new floors 2.5 New bathrooms Knocked down walls Installed a brand new kitchen Painted everything Installed Silver Pine beams Build a goat paradise New Deck in front and back of the house a 700 ft driveway A Porch Bed Swing!!! – Yes a BED!!!!!! A “She-Shed” AKA – an adorable cottage just for me. To write, create, weigh myself, eat a donut. A above ground pool which ordinarily I would barf as I think they look so so so white trashy… but I wrapped ours in wood and dug into the forest to place it so you swim with trees over your head! My favorite part… the decorating. I wanted farm but not farm “homegoods” kitch. I wanted it to still reflect my style but be more approachable. I discovered PEEL & STICK wallpaper – this might be the best part of this whole thing! Painted walls, all new furniture, new art, patio furniture, a built in bench on the porch with a built in coffee table. It is STILL a work in progress but what progress we have made. Now if I can get past the mice that look at me stuck on a trap with “Sound of Music” eyes, the fact that our goats poop pellets everywhere and constantly replacing batteries in my candle lights – all will be good in the world. The dogs are in heaven with a massive balcony outside the bedroom – yet they still seem to like to pee on the bed leg. Old habits die hard.
